Presley Mason Boggess
Presley Mason Boggess was born on September 15, 1830 in Muhlenberg County,
Kentucky. He was the fifth of six children born to Lemuel and Rachel
Boggess. His father died when Presley was about three years old, and his
mother remarried three years later. He grew up on the family farm in
Muhlenberg, and eventually became the fifth eldest of thirteen children.
Presley married America D. “Mary” Langley just after his 22nd birthday,
on September 17, 1852 in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky. Mary was 17 years
old at that time. She was born in April 1835 in Muhlenberg County,
Kentucky, the daughter of Jeremiah Langley and Hannah Bradford Taylor.
After their marriage, Presley and Mary settled on a farm in
Greenville, right next to the one owned by his mother and step-father.
They stayed in Greenville and raised their family.
Presley and Mary had nine children:

America D. Langley Boggess died on February 21, 1908 in
Greenville, Muhlenberg County, Kentucky. She was buried in the Evergreen
Cemetery in Greenville. She was 72 years old at her death.
Presley was living with his daughter, Mamie Williams, and her
family in Paducah, McCracken County, Kentucky in 1910.
Presley Mason Boggess died on April 17, 1914 in Port Arthur,
Jefferson County, Texas. He was laid to rest next to his wife in the
Evergreen Cemetery in Greenville. He was 83 years old at his death.
