William Burnet Nichols (1858- )

William Burnet Nichols was born on May 18, 1858 in McCracken County, Kentucky.  He was the third child born to William P. Nichols and Sarah A. Rice.  He was raised on the family farm in Paducah, McCracken County, Kentucky. 

In 1880, William was living in Ballard County, Kentucky, with his Uncle, James Nichols, and helping with the farm labor.  Later that year, William married Virginia Ira Belle Rudolph.  Virginia was born on August 24, 1862 in Kentucky, the daughter of David C. Rudolph and Lucinda Harper. Virginia's uncle, Felix Green Rudolph, married William’s sister, Mary C. Nichols.

The couple established a farm in Ballard County, Kentucky, near Virginia’s family.  They were the parents of six children:

            Seth B.                       born December 1886

            William Harold          born October 1891

            Mern                           born September 1893

            Felix Rudolph            born January 10, 1907

Virginia Ira Belle Rudolph Nichols died on July 15, 1927 in Ballard County, Kentucky.  The cause of death was chronic nephritis, or inflammation of the kidneys, from which she had suffered for about a year.  She was 64 years old at her death.

Mary C. Nichols (1855-1919)

Mary C. Nichols was born on November 4, 1855 in McCracken County, Kentucky.  She was the second child born to William P. Nichols and Sarah A. Rice.  She was raised on the family farm in Paducah, McCracken County, Kentucky. 

Mary married Felix Green Rudolph about 1873 in McCracken County, Kentucky.  Felix was born February 17, 1852 in McCracken County, the son of Wiley B. Rudolph and Mary Jane Lynn.

After their marriage, Felix and Mary settled on a farm in Ballard County, Kentucky.  By 1900, the couple had bought a home on South 6^th Street in Paducah, McCracken County, where Felix was employed by the county as a public administrator. They remained in this home the rest of their lives.

Mary C. Nichols Rudolph died on June 2, 1919 in Paducah, McCracken County, Kentucky.  The cause of death was heart disease.  She was 63 years old at her death.

Felix Green Rudolph died on June 9, 1924 in Paducah, McCracken County, Kentucky, just two months after his 72^nd birthday.
