married a woman named Ruby M. around 1918 in San Bernardino County, California. Ruby was born about 1897 in Connecticut.
In
1920, Joseph and Ruby were living in a house on Bazabooth Street in Needles,
San Bernardino County, California. At
that time, Joseph was working as a switchman for the railroad, as well as
maintaining his employment as a butcher.
Joseph
and Ruby are listed together in the California Voter Registration lists from
1920 through 1930.
In
1930, Joseph was living with his brother, John, in Yermo, San Bernardino
County, California. He was listed as married,
but Ruby was not listed in the household.
By 1932, Joseph was listed in the Voter Registration lists by himself,
living in Yermo, San Bernardino County, California.
Joseph married GladysBeulah Shumate Slaton in 1942 in San Bernardino County, California. This
was Gladys’ second marriage as well. Gladys was born on September 21,
1898 in Excelsior, Kingfisher County, Oklahoma.
She was the daughter of William Howell Shumate and Jenna Mae Hood.
According to the
California Voter Registrations, the couple was living at 1625 Front Street in
San Bernardino County, California, at least until 1946.
Joseph Patrick McCue
died on September 24, 1964 in San Bernardino County, California. He was
70 years old at his death.
Gladys Beulah Shumate
Slaton McCue died on March 29, 1984 in San Bernardino County, California.
She was 85 years old at her death.
