Walter John Ainsworth was
born in September 1885 in Rush County, Kansas.
He was the son of James R. Ainsworth and Martha E. Sinnet.
John
married Orestus Gertrude “Ora” Stansbury 1908 in Harper County, Kansas. She was 20 years old and he was 23
years. Ora was born on May 19, 1888, the
daughter of Samuel Stansbury and Josephine Stewart Wilson.

After
their marriage, the couple settled on a farm next to Ora’s parents in
Chicaskia, Harper County, Kansas.
Walter
and Ora separated sometime between 1912 and 1915. Ora and her children were living with her
parents in Chicaskia from 1915 until at least 1925. In the 1925 Kansas Census, Ora’s marital
status was listed as “divorced.”
By
1930, Walter had moved to Laramie County, Wyoming, where he was employed as a
cook on a sheep ranch. He was listed as “divorced”
and also a veteran of the First World War.
Walter
remarried sometime between 1930 and 1933.
His new wife, Eulah, was born in 1894 in Missouri.
According
to the Cheyenne, Wyoming City Directory, Walter was living with his wife, Eulah
Ainsworth, at 014 East Lincoln Highway in Cheyenne, Wyoming in 1933.
In
1940, Walter and Eulah were living at 3320 Cribbon Street in Cheyenne, Laramie
County, Wyoming, where Walter was employed as a bus driver for Cheyenne City.
By
1947, the couple had moved to Chanute, Neosho County, Kansas. The Chanute, Kansas City Directory lists
their address as 823 South Central in Chanute.
Eulah
Ainsworth died in 1952 in Chanute, Neosho County, Kansas. She was buried in the Highland Cemetery in
Ottawa, Franklin County, Kansas. She was
58 years old at her death.
Walter
John Ainsworth died six years later at the age of 72 years. He died on January 1, 1958 in Chanute, Neosho
County, Kansas. He was buried next to
his wife in the Highland Cemetery in Ottawa, Franklin County, Kansas.
