Felix Rudolph Nichols (1907-1974)

Felix Rudolph Nichols was born on January 10, 1907 in Ballard County, Kentucky. He was the last of six children born to William Burnet Nichols and Virginia Ira BelleRudolph. He was raised on the family farm in Ballard County.

Around 1925, Felix married Verna (maiden name unknown). He was 17 years old and she was 19 years. Verna was born around 1905 in Kentucky. They had at least one child:

James P. born 1927

After their marriage, Felix and Verna rented a home in Ballard County, where Felix found work as a farm laborer.

Felix Rudolph Nichols died on December 21, 1974 in McCracken County, Kentucky. He was 67 years old at his death.

William Harold Nichols (1891- )

William Harold Nichols was born on October 13, 1891 in Ballard County, Kentucky. He was the second of six children born to William Burnet Nichols and Virginia Ira BelleRudolph. He was raised on the family farm in Ballard County.

William married Leona Miles on December 22, 1909 in Obion County, Tennessee. He was 18 years old and she was 16 years. Leona was born in July 1893 in McCracken County, Kentucky, the daughter of Albert F. Miles and Minnie Humphries. William and Leona had at least three children:

William Earl born 1914

Richard H. born 1929

Shortly after their marriage, the young couple was living with William's family in Ballard County, Kentucky. William helped on the family farm.

William registered for the draft for the First World War on June 5, 1917 in Ballard County. He was described as of medium height and build, with light blue eyes and blonde hair. He did not serve in the war.

By 1920, the couple was living and working the farm adjacent to William’s parents. By 1930, they were renting a home in Jackson, Jackson County, Michigan, where William was employed as a cabinet builder for a radio plant.

Seth B. Nichols (1886- )

Seth B. Nichols was born December 1886 in Ballard County, Kentucky. She was the third of six children born to William Burnet Nichols and Virginia Ira BelleRudolph. She was raised on the family farm in Ballard County.

Seth married S.E. Dusch on April 19, 1907 in Ballard County. She was 20 years old and he was about 28 years. S.E. was born around 1879. They were the parents of one child:

By 1910, Seth and S.E. had divorced. Seth and her child were living with her parents on their farm in Ballard County.

David Presley Nichols (1883-1965)

David Presley Nichols was born on December 29, 1883 in Ballard County, Kentucky. He was the second of six children born to William Burnet Nichols and Virginia Ira Belle Rudolph. He was raised on the family farm in Ballard County.

David registered for the draft for the First World War on September 12, 1918 in Ballard County. At that time, he was employed as a farm laborer. He was described as of medium height and build, with blue eyes and light hair.

In 1920, David was living with his parents on their farm in Ballard County. David was working on the family farm, and he was listed as a widow in that census.

David Presley Nichols died on October 2, 1965 in McCracken County, Kentucky. He was 81 years old at his death.

William Burnet Nichols (1858- )

William Burnet Nichols was born on May 18, 1858 in McCracken County, Kentucky. He was the third child born to William P. Nichols and Sarah A. Rice. He was raised on the family farm in Paducah, McCracken County, Kentucky.

In 1880, William was living in Ballard County, Kentucky, with his Uncle, James Nichols, and helping with the farm labor. Later that year, William married Virginia Ira Belle Rudolph. Virginia was born on August 24, 1862 in Kentucky, the daughter of David C. Rudolph and Lucinda Harper. Virginia's uncle, Felix Green Rudolph, married William’s sister, Mary C. Nichols.

The couple established a farm in Ballard County, Kentucky, near Virginia’s family. They were the parents of six children:

Seth B. born December 1886

William Harold born October 1891

Felix Rudolph born January 10, 1907

Virginia Ira Belle Rudolph Nichols died on July 15, 1927 in Ballard County, Kentucky. The cause of death was chronic nephritis, or inflammation of the kidneys, from which she had suffered for about a year. She was 64 years old at her death.
