Richard Oates “R. O.” Boggess was born on August 28,
1892 in Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri. He was the fourth of nine children
born to Earle
Montrose Boggess & Hattie A. Gaugh.
In 1910, R.O. was living with his parents and siblings in their
home on Kimball Avenue in Excelsior Springs, Clay County, Missouri.
Richard Oates Boggess died two weeks before his 22nd
birthday, on August 13, 1914 in Hutchinson, Reno County, Kansas. He was buried in the Crown Hill Cemetery in
Excelsior Springs, Clay County, Missouri.
