Virginia Mary Boggess
Daughter of Presley M. Boggess and America D. Langley
Virginia Mary “Jennie” Boggess was
born February 30, 1862 in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky. She was the fourth
of eight children born to Presley M. Boggess and America D. Langley. She
was raised on the family farm in Muhlenberg.
Jennie
married Frances “Frank” Turner around 1882 in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky. She was 20 years old and he was 26
years. Frank was born on October 18,
1856 in Muhlenberg County, the son of William A. Turner and Caroline Ellison.

and Jennie were the parents of four children:

After
their marriage, Frank and Jennie settled on a farm in Boggess, Muhlenberg
County, Kentucky, where Frank worked as a farmer.
By
1910, the Turners were living in a home in Graham, Muhlenberg County,
Kentucky. Frank was working as a coal
miner at that time.
Virginia
Mary Boggess Turner died on May 30, 1913 in Graham, Muhlenberg County,
Kentucky. The cause of death was
pneumonia. She was buried in the Oglesby
Cemetery in White Plains, Hopkins County, Kentucky. She was 51 years old at her death.
In
1920, Frank was living in West Court House, Muhlenberg County, Kentucky. He was employed as a loader for a coal
mine.
By
1930, Frank was living in Graham, Muhlenberg County, Kentucky. Living with him was his daughter, Stella, and
her son, James. He lived there until his
death in 1942.
Frances
Turner died on March 25, 1942 in Graham, Muhlenberg County, Kentucky. The cause of death listed was “ulcer of the
stomach.” He was buried in the Corley
Chapel Cemetery in Graham, Muhlenberg County, Kentucky. He was 85 years old at his death.
