Fred Englehart (1892-1955)

Fred Englehart was born April 7, 1892 in Posey County, Indiana.  He was the second of seven children born to John Englehart and Lillian B. Hendricks.  Fred’s parents divorced sometime after 1902, and his mother married John Washington Luckett on November 23, 1908 in Vanderburgh County, Indiana. 

In 1910, Fred was living with his father and younger sister in Mount Vernon, in Posey County.  By 1920, he and his father were living on East Franklin Street in Evansville, Vanderburgh County, Indiana.  They were living with his sister, Minnie Robertson, and her family.  Fred and his father both worked at a furniture factory in Evansville.  Then in 1930, Fred was staying with his mother and step-father, John Luckett.  Their home was located at 2015 Bellemeade Avenue in Evansville.  Fred continued his work at the furniture factory.

Sometime before his mother’s death in 1951, Fred established the Englehart Insurance Agency in Vanderburgh County, Illinois.  He continued his work there until his death in 1956.

Fred Englehart died on January 21, 1955, at the age of 61.  He had been living at 2033 Bellemead Avenue in Evansville, Vanderburgh County, Indiana.  Before his death, he was a member of St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in Evansville.
