Gustavus Boggess was born in 1853 in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky. He lived less than a year. Gustavus died on June 12, 1854 in the county
of his birth.
The death record for Gustavus states that he was a slave,
belonging to, or being fathered by, Presley M. Boggess. The cause of death listed was “malformation
of [the] brain.”
