Annie Jane Boggess (1895- )


Annie Jane Boggess

Annie Jane Boggess was born in May 1895 in Galla Creek, Pope County, Arkansas.  She was the third of four children born to William Clarence Boggess and Dora A. Reed.  Annie was raised on the family farm located on the Little Rock Fort Smith Highway in Galla Creek, Pope County, Arkansas.  The family farm was located near the farms of her grandparents, Charles and Isabella Boggess, and her Uncle Haise Boggess.

Annie married Wade Bryan Henry on August 3, 1918 in Russellville, Pope County, Arkansas.  She was 22 years old and he was 24.  Wade was born on April 11, 1893 in the same city.  He was the son of William Charles Henry and Elizabeth Henry.

Prior to his marriage to Annie, Wade enlisted for service for World War I on June 5, 1917 in Illinois, Arkansas.  He was of medium height and build, with blue eyes and light hair.

In 1930, Wade and Annie lived in Wilson, Pope County, Arkansas, where Wade was a farmer.  They had no children at that time.  In that census, Wade was listed as a veteran of World War I.  In 1942, Wade registered for the draft during World War II.  He and Annie were living in Atkins, Pope County Arkansas at that time.  Their telephone number was 74B.

Wade Bryan Henry died in September 1967 in Russellville.  He was 74 years old at his death.
