Marshall Torry (1879- )


Marshall Torry was born November 26, 1879 in Grant County, Louisiana.  He was the son of Lycurgus Eugene Torry and Lucy Anna Williamson. He was raised in Grant County, Louisiana.

Marshall married Udora “Dora” Brooks around 1902 in Grant County, Louisiana.  He was 22 years old and she was 20 years.  Dora was born in February 1882 in Louisiana, the daughter of Robert Arthur Brooks and Nancy Jane Pipes.  Marshall and Dora had at least seven children, six of which were listed in the 1930 census:

After their marriage, Marshall and Dora settled their family on a farm in Grant County, Louisiana, where they were found in the 1910 and 1930 census. 

Marshall registered for the draft for the First World War on September 12, 1918 in Colfax, Grant County, Louisiana.  He was described as of medium height and build, with blue eyes and brown hair.
