Charles M. Stevenson was born December 31, 1864 in
Covington, Kenton County, Kentucky. He was the son of John Edgar Stevenson and Mary Ann Scholes. Charles was raised in Covington.
Charles never married. He lived with his parents and worked as a
carpenter. After the death of his father
in 1900, Charles continued to live with his mother and brother, John, on Wright
Street in Covington, Kenton County, Kentucky.
When their mother died in 1917, John and Charles moved to a home at 937
John Street in Covington.
In the 1930 US Census, Charles was
living in his home on John Street in Covington, along with a widowed woman
named Eva Stevenson, who is listed as his sister-in-law, and her three children:
Kermit, Marie, and Junior. I can’t
figure out who she is or who she was married to.
In 1940, Charles was living with his
brother, Edgar, at 527 Western Avenue in Covington.
Charles M. Stevenson died on January
23, 1945 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Covington, Kenton County, Kentucky. Before his death, he was employed as a lather
for T. Hays Building Contractor. He was
80 years old at his death. Charles was
buried in the Linden Grove Cemetery in Covington, Kenton County, Kentucky.
