Christopher married Virginia Hester LaCroix on February 8, 1883 in Grant Parish, Louisiana. He was 33 years old and she was 25 years. Virginia was born on January 6, 1858 in Rapides Parish, Louisiana, the daughter of Stephen LaCroix and Beersheba Gilmore.
Christopher Columbus Nugent died just two years after his marriage to Virginia. He died on February 16, 1885 in Grant Parish, Louisiana. He was 34 years old at his death and was buried in the Liberty Chapel Cemetery in Grant Parish.
After the death of her husband, Virginia married her cousin, Mitchell N. LaCroix, on June 17, 1890 in Rapides Parish, Louisiana. Mitchell was born November 5, 1856 in Rapides Parish, the son of James Lacroix and Arine Jones. This was Mitchell’s second marriage. The couple lived in Pollock, Grant Parish, Louisiana.
Virginia Hester LaCroix Nugent LaCroix died on May 16, 1905 in Pollock, Grant Parish, Louisiana. She was 47 years old at her death.
