Fannie L. Nugent (1878-1948)

Fannie L. Nugent was born in 1878 in Grant Parish, Louisiana.  She was the daughter of Francis Oliver Nugent and Dolly Crump.  She was raised in Grant Parish.

Fannie married Samuel Wesley Starling on August 24, 1892 in Rapides Parish, Louisiana.  She was 14 years old and he was 23 years.  Samuel was born in 1869 in Mississippi, the son of John Hampton Starling and Sarah Steele McClain. 

After their marriage, Samuel and Fanny settled their family in Grant Parish, where Samuel worked as a book setter for a paper mill.  The couple had at least three children:

            Ruth               born 1894
            Berta               born 1895
            Leroy              born 1905

Fannie L. Nugent Starling died on March 9, 1948 in Grant Parish, Louisiana.  She was 70 years old at her death.
