Morris William Crothers (1905-1934)

Morris William Crothers was born on April 8, 1905, in Covington, Kenton County, Kentucky.  He was the son of Charles E. Crothers and Nellie May Meyers Murphy.

Morris’ parents divorced sometime between 1910 and 1918.  His mother remarried in 1918 to Claude Edward Hallsman. 

In 1930, Morris was living with his mother and step-father in Covington, Kenton County, Kentucky.  His widowed half-sister, Edith Butler, was also in the household. 

Morris William Crothers died on January 8, 1934 in Covington, Kenton County, Kentucky.  The cause of death listed was, “Pistol shot into brain.  Back of right ear.  Self-inflicted.”  He was 27 years old at his death.
