Anton Ferdinand Holberg
Anton Ferdinand Holberg was born on November 14, 1895 in Galesburg, Traill County, North Dakota. He was the eldest of six children born to Joseph Herman Holberg and Ruth Boggess.
On August 7, 1916, Anton married Edith Anne Hollifield in Port Arthur, Jefferson County, Texas. He was 20 years old and she was 19 years. Edith was born in Texas on April 16, 1896, the daughter of Charles Benjamin Lam Hollifield and Leonora Ward. Her grandmother was Emma Redding Ward, born in Mississippi in 1848.
Anton and Edith raised their children in Port Arthur, Texas. He worked as a Stillman for an oil refinery and was employed by the state of Texas. He registered for the draft for World War I on June 5, 1917. At that time he and Edith were living in a home at 2117 Tenth Street in Port Arthur. They remained at that location at least until 1930. Anton was described as medium height and build with blue eyes and brown hair. He did not serve in the war.

Edith Anne Hollifield Holberg died on September 23, 1970 in Bridge City, Orange, Texas. She was 74 years old. Anton went on to live another 13 years after the death of his wife.
Anton Ferdinand Holberg died on July 30, 1983 in Jefferson County, Texas. His last place of residence was in Hemphill, Sabine, Texas. He was 87 years old at his death.
