Anna Englehart
Daughter of John Englehart and Lillian B.Hendricks
Anna Englehart was born in January 1895, in Posey County, Indiana. She was the third of seven children born to John Englehart and Lillian B. Hendricks. Anna’s parents divorced sometime after 1902, and her mother married John Washington Luckett on November 23, 1908 in Vanderburgh County, Indiana.
On May 1, 1917, Anna married Sylvester Henry Buehner in Posey County. She was 22 years old and he was 23 years. Sylvester was born on March 31, 1894 in Evansville, Vanderburgh County, Indiana.
In April 1942, Sylvester registered for the draft for World War II. At that time, he was living in the Coolidge Hotel in Springfield, Hampden County, Massachusetts. He was employed by the Evansville Ordnance (weapon) Plant, but was stationed at the Package Machine Company in Springfield.
Sylvester Henry Buehner died on October 28, 1962 at the age of 68. His place of residence was 3000 Taylor Avenue, Evansville, Vanderburgh County, Indiana. He passed away at St. Mary’s Hospital in Evansville. Just before his death, Sylvester had been working at the Sterling Brewery and Chrysler Corporation. He was also a member of the Assumption Catholic Church in Evansville.
Anna Englehart Buehner died on April 17, 1995 at the Washington Manor in Evansville, Vanderburgh County, Indiana. She was 100 years old at her death. Her obituary states that she had been employed as a piano player for silent films, and that she was an active member of the Christ the King Catholic Church. She was buried in the St. Joseph Cemetery in Evansville.
