Edgar E. Stevenson (1860-1944)

Edgar E. Stevenson was born September 5, 1860 in Covington, Kenton County, Kentucky. He was the son of John Edgar Stevenson and Mary Ann Scholes. Edgar was raised in Covington.

Edgar married Mary Belle Gaston on September 25, 1895 in Covington, Kenton County, Kentucky. He was 35 years old and she was 34 years. Belle was born July 21, 1861 in Kenton County, Kentucky, the daughter of James Gaston and Matilda Ann McCollum.

After their marriage, Edgar and Belle lived in a home on Western Avenue in Covington, where he worked as a carpenter.

Edgar and Belle divorced sometime between 1910 and 1920. After their divorce, Belle moved to a house on East 8^th Street in Covington, and Edgar stayed in the house on Western Avenue. Neither remarried.

By 1940, Edgar’s brother, Charles, had moved in with him in his house on Western Avenue.

Edgar E. Stevenson died on September 4, 1944 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Kenton County, Kentucky. He was 84 years old at his death. Edgar was buried in Highland Cemetery in Fort Mitchell, Kenton County, Kentucky.

Mary Belle Gaston Stevenson died a year and a half later, on May 14, 1946. She passed away due to heart failure at the age of 84 years. She was buried in Independence Cemetery in Kenton County, Kentucky.

Laurena Stevenson (1864-1900)

Laurena Stevenson was born about 1864 in Covington, Kenton County, Kentucky. She was the daughter of John Edgar Stevenson andMary Ann Scholes.

Laurena died on March 2, 1900 in Covington. The cause of death listed was “tuberculosis of the lungs.” She was 36 years old at her death. Laurena was buried in Highland Cemetery in Fort Mitchell, Kenton County, Kentucky.

James Stevenson (1868-1874)

James Stevenson was born April 5, 1868 in Covington, Kenton County, Kentucky. He was the son of John Edgar Stevenson and Mary Ann Scholes.

James died when he was just five years old, on January 15, 1874. He was buried in Highland Cemetery in Fort Mitchell, Kenton County, Kentucky.

Charles M. Stevenson (1864-1945)

Charles M. Stevenson was born December 31, 1864 in Covington, Kenton County, Kentucky. He was the son of John Edgar Stevenson and Mary Ann Scholes. Charles was raised in Covington.

Charles never married. He lived with his parents and worked as a carpenter. After the death of his father in 1900, Charles continued to live with his mother and brother, John, on Wright Street in Covington, Kenton County, Kentucky. When their mother died in 1917, John and Charles moved to a home at 937 John Street in Covington.

In the 1930 US Census, Charles was living in his home on John Street in Covington, along with a widowed woman named Eva Stevenson, who is listed as his sister-in-law, and her three children: Kermit, Marie, and Junior. I can’t figure out who she is or who she was married to.

In 1940, Charles was living with his brother, Edgar, at 527 Western Avenue in Covington.

Charles M. Stevenson died on January 23, 1945 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Covington, Kenton County, Kentucky. Before his death, he was employed as a lather for T. Hays Building Contractor. He was 80 years old at his death. Charles was buried in the Linden Grove Cemetery in Covington, Kenton County, Kentucky.

John S. Stevenson (1857-1929)

John S. Stevenson was born September 12, 1857 in Covington, Kenton County, Kentucky. He was the son of John Edgar Stevenson and Mary Ann Scholes. John was raised in Covington.

John never married. He lived with his parents and studied law, and eventually became a lawyer. After the death of his father in 1900, John continued to live with his mother and brother, Charles, on Wright Street in Covington, Kenton County, Kentucky. When their mother died in 1917, John and Charles moved to a home at 937 John Street in Covington.

John S. Stevenson died on August 13, 1929 in Covington, Kenton County, Kentucky. Before his death, John was employed as a mail clerk for the railroad. He was 71 years old at his death. John was buried in the Linden Grove Cemetery in Covington, Kenton County, Kentucky.
