Paul Lemuel Boggess was born on February 25, 1898, presumably in Boggess, Muhlenberg County, Kentucky. He was the only child born to James Lemuel Boggess and Tennessee Allen. James was raised on the family farm in Greenville, Muhlenberg County.

On September 12, 1918, Paul enlisted for service during World War I. He was working for his father as a farmer at that time. He was of medium height and slender build, with grey eyes and light hair.

Paul Lemuel Boggess died on April 7, 1978 in Greenville, Muhlenberg County, Kentucky. He was 80 years old at his death.

James Lemuel Boggess

Son of Lemuel Boggess, Jr. & Frances Dargan Adkins

James Lemuel Boggess was born in August 1856 in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky. He was the fifth of eleven children born to Lemuel Boggess, Jr. and Frances D. Adkins. He and the other children were raised working on the family farm in Muhlenberg County.

James married Tennessee Allen in 1896, presumably in Muhlenberg County. He was 39 years old and she was 24 years. Tennie was born in April 1872 in Tennessee. James was a farmer by trade and he and Tennie made their home in Boggess, Muhlenberg County, after their marriage. James and Tennie had one child:

James Lemuel Boggess died on January 16, 1941 in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky. He was 84 years old at his death.

Martha A. "Mattie" Boggess

Daughter of Lemuel Boggess, Jr. & Frances Dargan Adkins

Martha A. "Mattie" Boggess was born in December 1855 in Henry County, Tennessee. She was the fourth of eleven children born to Lemuel Boggess, Jr. and Frances D. Adkins.

Martha and her family lived and worked on a farm in Henry County, Tennessee until around 1855, when they moved to Muhlenberg County, Kentucky. She and the other children were raised working on the family farm in Muhlenberg County.

She and her widowed mother were living with her brother, Edmond, and his family in Driskill, Livingston County, Kentucky in 1900.

Martha A. Boggess died in 1921 in Greenville, Muhlenberg County, Kentucky. She was 65 years old at her death.

Sarah F. Boggess (1852- )

Daughter of Lemuel Boggess, Jr. & Frances Dargan Adkins

Sarah F. Boggess was born in 1852 in Henry County, Tennessee. She was the third of eleven children born to Lemuel Boggess, Jr. and Frances D. Adkins. Sarah and her family lived and worked on a farm in Henry County, Tennessee until around 1855, when they moved to Muhlenberg County, Kentucky. She and the other children were raised working on the family farm in Muhlenberg County. She was living with her family in Muhlenberg in 1870.

James Bradley Johnston (1883-1956)

James Bradley Johnston was born on December 4, 1883 in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky. He was the youngest of five children known to be born to Joseph Finis Johnston & Elizabeth Jane Boggess. James was raised on the family farm in Court House, Muhlenberg County.

James married Miranda Pearl Hill on December 14, 1902 in Court House, Muhlenberg County. He was 19 years old and she was 17 years. Miranda was born on February 8, 1886 in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky, the daughter of John H. Johnston and Miranda Jane Doss.

James and Miranda raised their family on a farm in Court House, Muhlenberg, Kentucky. James worked on the farm and made a living selling his produce.

At least three children were born to this union:

James Irvin Johnston born August 31, 1903

Vaden Lorine Johnston born January 24, 1910

Elizabeth Mildred Johnston born February 22, 1919

James and Miranda lost their two eldest children in January 1914. They lost their daughter, Vada Lorine Johnston, on January 18, 1914. She suffered burns due to her clothing catching fire. Lorine was four years old. Their son, James Irvin Johnston, died one week later, on January 25. He suffered from spondylitis and died as a result of a chest infection. Irvin was 10 years old at his death. Both children were laid to rest in the Cherry Grove Cemetery in Weir, Muhlenberg County, Kentucky.

James registered for the draft for the First World War on September 12, 1918 in Greenville, Muhlenberg County. He was of medium height and build, with grey eyes and dark hair. James did not serve in the war.

Miranda Pearl Hill Johnston died on July 12, 1952 in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky. She was buried beside her two children in the Cherry Grove Cemetery in Weir, Muhlenberg County, Kentucky. Miranda was 66 years old at her death.

James Bradley Johnston died four years later on June 15, 1956, in the same county. He was laid to rest beside his wife and children in the Cherry Grove Cemetery in Weir, Muhlenberg County, Kentucky. James was 73 years old.

Joseph Clinton Johnston was born on February 9, 1881 in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky. He was the fourth of five children known to be born to Joseph Finis Johnston and Elizabeth Jane Boggess. Joe was raised on the family farm in Court House, Muhlenberg County.

In 1910, Joe married Josephine Neal in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky. He was 28 years old, and she was 18 years. Josie was born on July 24, 1891 in Kentucky. After their marriage, Joe and Josie settled down on a farm on Main Cross St. in Greenville, Muhlenberg County. They had three children, as follows:

Anna Helen born 1918

Joe enlisted for service during World War I on September 12, 1918. He described himself as medium height and build, with grey eyes and light hair. Joe was not a veteran of World War I.

Joseph Clinton Johnston died on November 10, 1956 in the city of Fulton, Fulton County, Kentucky. He was 75 years old at his death. Josephine went on to live another three decades after the death of her husband. She died on February 7, 1986 in Murray, Calloway County, Kentucky, at the age of 94.

Charles Henry Johnston was born on February 2, 1879 in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky. He was the third of five children known to be born to Joseph Finis Johnston and Elizabeth Jane Boggess. Charlie was raised on the family farm in Court House, Muhlenberg County.

On October 27, 1901, Charlie married Mittie Estelle Boggess in Muhlenberg County. He was 23 years old and she was 22 years. Mittie was also born in 1879 in Kentucky, the daughter of George F. Boggess and Margaret Elizabeth Greenwood. Charlie and Mittie had at least two children:

Lawrence born 1908

Charlie enlisted for service in World War I, on September 12, 1918. He was of medium height and stout build, with grey eyes and dark brown hair. At that time, he and his family were living on a farm on Route 3 in Greenville.

Charles Henry Johnston died on January 30, 1937 in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky. He was just three days shy of his 58^th birthday. Mittie went on to live another 30 years after the death of her husband. Mittie E. Johnston died at the age of 91, on August 10, 1970 in the same county.
